Hackathon with Mission Green Mumbai to Solve Mumbai’s Water Crisis: Innovate for a Greener Future!

We are thrilled to announce the Hackathon (Sep 2024 - Feb 2025): Addressing Mumbai's Water Crisis under the mentorship of Dr. Subhajit Mukherjee Mission Green Mumbai.

The analysis and suggestions will be shared with Additional Municipal Commissioner Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation & Project Director Majhi Vasundhara abhiyan Government of Maharashtra.

Problem Statement: 

Mumbai a city grappling with both water scarcity and flooding presents a significant challenge to its residents. This biohackathon aims to foster innovative solutions that address these pressing environmental issues.

Call for Teams: 

We invite teams of students researchers professionals and innovators to participate in this hackathon. No prior knowledge or experience is expected.

Prizes:

• 1st Prize: INR 15000
• 2nd Prize: INR 5000

Application Process:

1. Team Registration: Form your team and submit your application by September 20th 2025. An entry fee of ₹1500 is applicable per team (UPI: riidlf@kotak)
2. Design Thinking Workshop: Selected teams will participate in a design thinking workshop facilitated by Subhajit Mukherjee in the Last week of September. This workshop will provide essential tools and guidance for developing innovative solutions.
3. Mentorship and Iteration: Throughout October November and December teams will receive regular mentorship from Subhajit Mukherjee. This will involve guidance on project development prototyping and overcoming challenges.
4. Prototype Submission: Teams will submit their initial prototypes in January for evaluation.
5. Final Presentation: The culmination of the Hackathon will be a final presentation in February 2025 where teams will showcase their innovative solutions to a panel of experts at Somaiya Innovation and Impact Festival.
