Hack the Gap October 2026 Hackathon

Attention Minnesota technologists! Are you passionate about innovation? Curious about a career in tech, or already part of the industry? Looking to spend a weekend learning, networking, and building? This event is for you!

Join us for our 2026 one day hackathon on October 17th, with Demo Day that same afternoon from 2pm - 4pm at Improving in Minneapolis! We'll gather in uptown Minneapolis at Improving's office (with plenty of free parking!) for a day filled with creativity and collaboration. Meet fellow tech enthusiasts, connect with potential employers, and put your skills on display!

Kickoff + Working Session - Saturday, October 17th

• 8:30 AM: Doors open. Coffee, pastries, and fruit will be available.
• 9:00 AM: Enjoy breakfast, connect with others, and form teams. Most participants will find teammates now, though pre-formed groups are also welcome!
• 9:45 AM: Begin work on projects!
• 12:00 PM: Lunch provided.
• 1:30PM: Get ready for demos

Demos start at 2pm (community tickets here)

• 2:00 PM: Demos begin.
• 3:30 PM: Prize announcements and wrap-up.

Code of Conduct: Before you arrive, it’s required that you review the code of conduct. One of the most important aspects of this event is creating a safe space.

Food: We'll provide breakfast and lunch so you can stay focused on your project, along with snacks available throughout the event.
