About this Event
Join local naturalist Mark Welfare for an engaging exploration of the habitats and plant life of the beautiful Wansbeck Valley. In this session, Mark will share how he fell in love with the flora of the Wansbeck, highlighting some of its special habitats, notable plant species, ancient woodland indicators, and remarkable trees.
The talk will also include a brief introduction to wildlife and plant recording, and why documenting local nature matters.
Mark is a keen amateur general naturalist with particular interests in biological recording, the Wansbeck Valley, hoverflies, bees, moths, and plants. His enthusiasm and local knowledge offer a fascinating insight into one of Northumberland’s treasured landscapes.
Perfect for anyone with an interest in local wildlife, botany, conservation, or the natural history of the Wansbeck Valley.
