Habitat Steward Summer Series: Oldfather Prairie Restoration

Join us for a hands-on habitat restoration event at Oldfather Prairie in Kearney. Volunteers will work together to remove invasive eastern red cedar trees and encroaching shrubs that threaten the health of this native prairie ecosystem. We’ll also repair and maintain trails to improve safe access while protecting the landscape.
This is a great opportunity to support local conservation efforts, learn about prairie ecosystems, and make a visible impact in your community. No prior experience is needed—just bring sturdy shoes, work gloves, and a willingness to get a little dirty. Come help restore and preserve one of Kearney’s natural treasures!
