We planted trees in 2022 at Millen Street, which you might have seen grow over the last few years if you drive along the Great Western Highway in Kingswood. Now, we want to add some diversity to the ground layer! WHAT'S THE GROUND LAYER?
When we talk about the "ground layer", we're referring to the plants that prefer to grow along the ground rather than vertically towards the sun. They are generally plants that are less than 30cm tall.
Ground layer planting is important as it reduces W**d growth, improves moisture retention in the soil, creates better soil structure, prevents erosion, and attracts wildlife — just to name a few things!
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
• Tools, training, and guidance on how to plant. No experience is required!
• You can bring your own gloves, but we’ll provide these.
• Delicious refreshments, tea, and coffee.
I WANT TO COME. HOW DO I REGISTER?
The event is open to everyone with and without Bushcare experience. Children must be supervised by an adult.
Register via the Tickets.
