About this Event
Habitat Restoration at the Little Wekiva River π April 23rd | 9:00 AM β 12:00 PM
Join us for a hands-on morning of environmental action along the banks of the Little Wekiva River! Together, we'll work to remove invasive species and replace them with native aquatic plants β restoring balance to one of Central Florida's most vital waterways.
The Little Wekiva River is an irreplaceable natural treasure, and every volunteer hour spent here makes a real difference. Whether you're a seasoned conservationist or showing up for the first time, your effort matters.
What we'll be doing:
- Removing invasive vegetation threatening the river ecosystem
- Planting native aquatic species to restore the natural shoreline
What to bring & wear:
- Clothes you don't mind getting wet or muddy along the shoreline
- Shoes that can get wet
- A reusable water bottle
- Sunscreen and/or a hat
Come ready to get your hands dirty (and maybe your feet wet) for a cause that truly counts. This is environmental stewardship in action β and a beautiful place to do it.
