Join Green Kirkland for a fun day of forest restoration at Edith Moulton Park!
About this Event

Volunteers will help restore critical habitat by removing invasive plants such as blackberry or ivy, planting native plants, and pitching-in with stewardship tasks like mulching and weeding. With your help, this park will have healthy and thriving natural areas for years to come!

All experience levels and ages are welcome following the safety and event guidelines (see below). Tools and training are provided. Events are 100% outdoors and occur rain or shine*!

This event is led by Green Kirkland Steward Collin and Zahra.

For general information about what to expect at Green Kirkland events visit the 'About Volunteering' page on our website at www.greenkirkland.org.

How To Register:

Please use the 'Register on Eventbrite' button on this page. After registering, you will receive confirmation emails from Eventbrite with reminders about your event.

Registration is requested for all participants to ensure we have enough tools/space. Occasionally events fill to capacity and registration closes.

  • Families: please register a name for every participant including yourself and any youth attending with you. You can reserve slots for each family member by adding 'tickets' to your registration.
  • Groups: Please reach out to the program coordinator if you're looking to bring more than 10 volunteers to determine if space is available.

  • Full water bottle & snacks
  • Rain gear, layers, OR sun protection as needed

Optional

A restroom or portable toilet will be onsite.

Youth Volunteering:

All youth volunteer guidelines can be found on the 'About Volunteering' page on our website.

  • Youth under the age of 14 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will remain onsite and supervise the minor for the duration of the event.
  • Youth between the ages 14 to 18 years must either be accompanied by an adult OR be signed in by an adult at the beginning of the event OR bring a signed youth waiver form.
  • The Youth and Individual Service Agreement can be filled out digitally or printed with a parent/guardian signature.

The completed Youth & Individual Service Agreement form should be presented to the Green Kirkland Steward hosting the event—hard copy or proof of electronic submission is acceptable.

Court Ordered Service:

Court-ordered/mandated service options are limited to Teen Traffic Court issued by the Kirkland Municipal Court. If this applies to you, visit the 'About Volunteering' page on our website for more information and contact the program coordinator prior to any service.

Safety Protocols:

Visit the 'About Volunteering' page on our website for more details of current safety guidelines.

*Weather

Events are generally rain or shine. Cancellations can occur due to unsafe weather including excessive heat or cold, high winds, storms or poor air quality. Participants will be notified via email and/or onsite signage.

*Stinging Insects:

All of Green Kirkland's restoration sites are in natural areas, and stinging insects such as wasps may be active, especially from May - October. Though we do our best to check sites prior to events for any hazards, volunteers may encounter stinging insects. Please take proper precautions if you know you're allergic (carry an anaphylaxis kit issued by your doctor) and alert your event host of any concerns.
