Weaving with Rhiannon: Thread, Story & Ancient Craft7th & 8th March | Rudry Hall - dedicated to Welsh mystic William Price
The arts of weaving and tablet weaving are potent medicines for these turbulent times. They require us to slow down, to work with our hands, to remember something our ancestors knew in their bones - that creation is sacred, that pattern matters, that we are all weavers.
Whether or not you've ever worked with thread before, you already understand weaving.
Every day you gather the threads of your experiences, your choices, your dreams, and craft the fabric of your life. This weekend invites you to make that invisible work visible, guided by Rhiannon.

Rhiannon the Weaver 🕸
In the Mabinogi, Rhiannon weaves her own destiny with fierce sovereignty. She chose to leave the Otherworld for the human realm, riding out on her pale white horse to claim the husband she wanted. When trapped by Gwawl's cunning words, she wove an even more cunning plan. Through false accusations and unjust penance, she endured with dignity, never allowing others to diminish who she truly was.
Rhiannon teaches us what it means to be a weaver in the deepest sense - gathering the threads of circumstance, choice, and will to create the life we're meant to live.
Stories at the Loom:
Our ancestors didn't just share these tales around the fire. They shared them at the loom, in the rhythmic work of hands creating. This weekend, we return to that ancient practice.
What unfolds:
Two six-hour days at Rudry Hall - nestled in the beautiful hills - where we'll learn tablet weaving as it was practised in the Iron Age while exploring Rhiannon's journey through the Four Branches.
There's something that happens when your hands work with thread while your mind explores myth. As we work, we'll sit with Rhiannon's tale the way our ancestors would have done, weaving and sharing, letting the story inform the work and the work inform the story.
Between sessions, you'll have time in the Rudry hills, breathing in the Welsh landscape.
