February 22nd, 2025 at Centre Ice Arena!We are proud to present our 2025 beneficiary – Jake Townsend of Traverse City, MI!
Jake was diagnosed in September of 2024 with Ewings Sarcoma. A very rare form of cancer. Jake is undergoing chemotherapy at U of M in Ann Arbor and is there 3 days a week, week off, 5 days a week, week off, repeated for 9 months, with a major surgery in between. Jake is taking the worst chemotherapy a human can take, Doxorubicin, also known as “red devil”. As of right now, Jake has only had 2 weeks of treatments and is extremely sick. He is barely working. He is the most amazing father to 2 beautiful girls, Kenna who is 13 and Harper who is 10. He also the best husband to Ashlee Rice-Townsend who is stretched very thin between her mother (step mother Kelly) who is also undergoing chemotherapy and traveling with Jake every other week. Jake just also recently lost his mother due to cancer.
Grand Traverse Guns N Hoses is proud to stand in the fight with Jake and his family for our 12th annual game! This event cannot happen without the large outpouring support of our generous community, so we are looking forward to seeing you all once again in February!
We are very excited to bring a new format this year to our event, and we cannot wait to share it with you!
