Saturday's activities at Bastrop TX Mardi Gras will feature a Gumbo Cook-Off competition, organized by and benefiting the Bastrop Juneteenth Parade and Celebration 2025. This event commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in Texas on June 19, 1865. The Bastrop Juneteenth Committee continues to honor this legacy through community events that promote social change, education, and cultural heritage.Gather your krewe and bring your best recipe to the Gumbo Cook-Off, where flavor meets friendly competition—all to benefit the Bastrop Juneteenth Committee!
