Praise be The Guitar Worship Service hath been resurrected!What?
Fair to ask, here's the low down:
In Seattle on Aug 16th 2013, Nov 9th 2013, and Feb 28th 2014 the first three Guitar Worship Services were experienced at The Josephine (now The Woodland Theater).
All performance sets were required to integrate at least one guitar and artists had free reign to interpret that requirement.
The resulting performances ranged from fuzz-grooved stoner rock to unlikely one-off duo collaborations to the most mind-twisting solo project creations this sacred guitar instrument is capable of.
Those three dates were divine happenings which featured the almightiest of guitar gods.
Don't believe me?
Ask the heads who were there, man.
They'll vouch.
And if they don't they're narcs.
If you weren't around at that time you missed out.
But now you're around this time so you can witness the resurrection of The Guitar Worship Service.

Dustin performed the opening set at the first Guitar Worship Service. Relatively a newcomer to the Seattle noise scene at that time, Dustin's meticulously sculpted and diverse performance actuated the possibilities of what this show concept proved to be. It's symbolic that Tarsier Eyes catches that lightning bolt once again by opening this show.

A newcomer to the Guitar Worship Service, Erin is a welcomed invite as being handpicked for this lineup by Dustin of Tarsier Eyes who's sense of taste is finer than that of a wine snob. To my understanding, Trebled Morels shreds cacophony on a lap steel guitar. The grapevine says this project hasn't performed in a minute and that's a shame. We'll get that matter straightened out tonight.

Earlier this year Avant-Garde composer Blake Degraw (you may know him from his FNTGN project) revived this multi-membered entourage of axe slingers and audiences have been converted into guitar-praising congregations. Wait, hold up. NWEGO has been revived. The Guitar Worship Service has been revived. Think we found another symbolic occurrence to have this event see the light. Anyhoo, NWEGO's secret sauce is the sheer number of guitarists that ascend to the oddist of auditory heights. Tonight's piece is entitled "Koiní Moíra" (i.e. "Shamanic Strumming"). Originally composed for a choir of electric guitars (hear the provided Bandcamp track), this set will swap them pickup-powered instruments for an all-acoustic approach and holy hell it'll be a hypnotic doozy.
