The Music Circle Presents: 80s Fight Night - New Wave vs Metal!Students of the local Downtown Everett music school compete, song to song, in a competition of two distinct genres: New Wave and Metal.
Coming from post-war climates and the first British Invasion wave, New Wave and Metal would both become responses to and changes of direction from the punk music and disco pop that was king.
New Wave would bring an electronic, synthesized, and futuristic sound and fashion statement to the table. At the same time, Metal would harken back to the Rock forefathers, such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, to create a new, more raw sound, rich in melody and potent in form.
Who will win? You decide. Proceeds benefit our student scholarship fund and make music education possible for our local community.
