We invite you to visit The Bastion of the Vilnius Defence Wall and take part in the guided tour “Stories of the Vilnius Bastion”.
🏰 The museum is located in an authentic part of the Vilnius Defence Wall – the bastion. More than 500 years ago, the people of Vilnius gathered for a common goal – to protect their beloved city and their homes and built the Vilnius Defence Wall. A little later, the wall was strengthened with a bastion fortification – the Bastion.
Today, the bastion also tells the story of the importance of people who are ready to defend their land and its beloved people. This is evidenced by the history of the bastion itself, and the permanent exhibition “From Flint to Gunpowder”, which presents the development of weapons over the centuries: how they changed, how their production technology improved.
In addition, the bastion is teeming with many mysterious stories – about the horse that discovered the bastion, the maiden who haunts the dungeons, and even the king of mythical creatures himself – the Basilisk.
