Charles, Dianne and Gluklya will take you on a tour full of insights and unexpected stories about the works in Fragility in Times of Fire.
About this Event

Join artist Gluklya (Natalia Pershina-Yakimanskaya) for a guided walk through her exhibition Fragility in Times of Fire, a body of work made collaboratively with embroiderers, sewing workers, and friends, rooted in the idea that fragility is not weakness but a political and collective practice.

The tour brings together two guests who approach her work from very different angles. Charles Esche, curator and director of the Van Abbemuseum from 2004 to 2024, has spent his career asking what art institutions can do for society. Dianne Beal, independent curator and specialist in non-conformist art, has supported Gluklya's practice for years, not only as a collector but as someone who has offered her a place to live, embodying the values of care and hospitality that run through the work itself.

The conversation between them is part of the exhibition. Between institutional thinking and intimate solidarity, between art and life, this tour is a live enactment of the tensions the work explores.

Duration: approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
