Guided Night Hike at Wind Wolves Preserve

EVENT DETAILS

This guided hike is approximately 2.5 miles with some uphill sections. Recommended for ages 8 and up (no strollers). Event is subject to cancellation due to unsafe weather conditions, including excessive heat warnings.

Please plan to arrive at the front archway between 6:45 pm and 7:15 pm for check-in. Only registered participants will be admitted (NO WALK-UPS or additional guests). Gates will be LOCKED at 7:15 pm after which time no one will be admitted. Hike starts at 7:30 PM.

This program is funded by the Outdoor Equity Grants Program, created through AB 209 and administered by California State Parks, Office of Grants and Local Services.

RESERVATIONS

• close-toed shoes
• long pants
• layered clothing
• flashlight (also a blacklight if you have one)

SAFETY

• Remember to bring enough water and snacks for each person and pet in your group (it is recommended you bring 1 liter for every 2 hours of hiking/person).

• Water at all restrooms is potable, and water bottle refill stations are available at select restrooms. Please see a staff member for more information.
• Recognize the symptoms of heat illness in yourself and others.

ABOUT US

Wind Wolves Preserve is a 93,000-acre nature preserve located approximately 30 miles south of Bakersfield, and is owned and operated by The Wildlands Conservancy (TWC). The preserve is open to the public daily and visitors can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping, or attend a staff led program, all free of charge.
