Guided Forest Therapy Walk with Faith (Amsterdam) - Autumn Edition

🍁 Guided Forest Therapy walk developed by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy is a practice that involves immersive experiences in natural environments guided by a trained facilitator. This practice is not a form of psychotherapy. It is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing.

As M. Amos Clifford says, "The forest is the therapist. The guide opens the doors.”. During this immersion, I will offer you a series of invitations, each lasting about 10-20 minutes. If I offer you an invitation/ prompt e.g. "wander and greet the beings in your space as you would to a friend and notice how it feels" and you are called to do something else, you’re welcome to follow your body’s lead. There is no right or wrong.

Forest therapy is profound given the increasing challenges related to health, well-being, and environmental disconnect in our modern society. It promotes relaxation, improved mental health and clarity, boosted immunity due to exposure to nature, deepened connection to nature and promotes ecological mindfulness and a sense of belonging that is not only beneficial for personal well-being but can also inspire environmentally responsible behaviours.
