Guided Forest and Lake Walk at Mc Dowell Nature Preserve

Whether you’re new to Charlotte, recently relocated for work, visiting the area, or simply looking for a companion to explore with, this guided nature walk offers a welcoming way to discover one of the region’s most beautiful outdoor destinations.

Starting from the Visitor Center, we will follow a scenic counterclockwise route through McDowell Nature Preserve. The trail winds through peaceful forests and along the shores of Lake Wylie, offering beautiful views of the water and surrounding nature. Along the way, we will stop at several scenic overlooks and visit the wooden observation deck, providing excellent opportunities for photography, wildlife observation, and enjoying the natural beauty of the preserve.
