Guided Bird Walk at Avimor's Spring Valley Creek Trail

Registration is required to attend this event as space is limited. Please make sure ALL fields in the registration form are completed and that a confirmation email is received.

Join Golden Eagle Audubon for a guided bird walk on Spring Valley Creek Trail. More than 150 species of birds have been documented within Avimor's unique riparian and sagebrush steppe habitat. This trail provides great elevated views of species wintering in the shrubs along Spring Valley Creek creek. Be prepared to walk about 2 miles on a single track unpaved trail loop with sand and gravel.

Accessibility: This trip may be suitable for those with visual impairment who are comfortable on unpaved hikes. This trip requires moderate hiking and is not suited for those with limited mobility, and is not wheelchair accessible.

Birding Skill Level: All levels are welcome. Binoculars will be available if needed.

Age: Participants younger than 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and participants younger than 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the liability release.

Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm. Check-in is at 9:50am. Please arrive at check-in so we can start on time.

: We will meet at the parking lot of Foothills Heritage Park, and walk across the trailhead to Spring Creek Valley Trail together. (Click on "Meeting Place" to get directions from your location.)

What to Bring: Layers for weather, sun protection, closed-toe shoes, binoculars, and water. No dogs please.

Restroom Availability: The closest restroom is the Mobil gas station on W Avimor Dr.

Special Conditions: Paths may be slippery and/or icy depending on recent weather. Please consider bringing YakTrax if you have them.

Inclement Weather: If there is an unhealthy AQI, steady precipitation forecast, or the trails are not suitable for ethical passage, the trip may be cancelled.
