This intensive with Gui & Paloma focuses on one of the "pillars" of the dance: The Axis. By understanding your center, you unlock the ability to execute complex movements with total stability and grace.
This session isn't just theory—it’s a deep dive into the practical application of the axis through Turns, "S" (Ochos), and Sacadas. You’ll learn how to maintain your balance while navigating through the partner’s space, ensuring every rotation and weight transfer feels "yummy" and controlled. This intensive is a must for anyone who wants to upgrade their technical foundation and unlock the true potential of dynamic Brazilian Zouk.

– What day → Saturday 14th of February
– What time → 10 am - 12 pm
– Where → ‘Skydeck Room’ at The Space Arts and Dance Centre (Festival Venue)

Ever feel like you’re "falling" out of your turns or losing balance during an Ocho?
By mastering the axis, you transform your dance from a series of steps into a continuous flow of energy. Gui & Paloma will show you how a stable axis allows for cleaner turns, more fluid "S" movements, and the precise timing required for seamless sacadas. Understanding these mechanics makes you a more connected partner and a more confident dancer on any dance.

>> Is there an audition process? What are the requirements?
To accommodate feedback from previous events, all participants will sign up with a training partner of their choice instead of holding auditions.
How does that work? Each couple will sign up for the intensive as partners (1 Leader + 1 Follower) and take this intensive as a unit. If other partners are willing and want to rotate with you, the teachers will allow partner rotation between those specific couples.
Recommended Level: Intermediate (1 year+ experience). If you don’t meet this recommendation but still want to sign up, please be aware that the material will be technically challenging.
Note: You must be a BraZouky AUS 2026 Event Pass holder (Leader, Follower, or Buddies) to purchase this intensive as an 'add-on'.
