Introducing the Grumpy Scotsmen Ceilidh Band:
Jock Walton on button accordion
Iain Mitchell, acoustic guitar. (Both men sing and indulge in delightful banter).
They are accompanied by Alan McCulloch, violin and James Macandrew, piano.
Jock has been listening to and playing this Celtic music since he first borrowed his grandmother’s button “box”. Mitch has been playing in public since he was about 12 and has a wealth of Scottish songs at his fingertips. Songs of the sea and Scotland, and he has particular penchant for early American blues. James has played in various local ensembles for far too long and Alan, in his retirement, is producing fine sounds on both fiddle and mandolin.
