GROWTESQUE speaker series Part 3

GROWTESQUE centers on our relationship to land and the mythology of perpetual economic growth—questioning what it means to flourish ecologically and socially in a time of collapse and transition. The exhibition itself serves as a platform for climate activism, not only through discourse but also through action: a portion of sales will support tactical land conservation efforts in partnership with a wildlife conservation nonprofit.

On September 30th we welcome Matthew Menzies and Beatrice Modisett to our intimate stage to discuss art as a platform for climate activism, introspections on sustainability as an artistic practice, and value creation in a growth minded cultural backdrop. Delving into the Extinction Rebellion call to action “No Art on a Dead Planet” we ask - what does the artist’s imaginary do to preserve life?
