Learn to Grow Your Own Groceries with Christina Looney
Grocery prices are through the roof, but what if you could grow your own fresh, healthy food—right at home? Whether you have a backyard, a balcony, or just a little space for containers, Master Gardener Christina Looney will show you how easy and rewarding it is to cultivate your own groceries!


In this hands-on class, you'll learn:
- How to grow vegetables like carrots, potatoes, and peas (don’t like peas and carrots? There’s always, spinach, beets, broccoli, cabbage, onions, radishes, and more!
- The best ways to grow fresh salad greens and herbs
- Container gardening vs. raised bed vs. sowing directly in the ground
- Simple techniques to maximize your harvest with minimal effort
- How to start seeds indoors
- Soil basics - create the perfect foundation for your garden to thrive
By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with the knowledge (and confidence!) to start growing food at home—saving money, eating healthier, and enjoying the satisfaction of homegrown goodness. It’s easier than you think.
About Our Instructor:

Christina Looney is a Master Gardener with WSU Snohomish County Extension and an artist based in Arlington, Washington. Passionate about both plants and watercolor painting, she brings vibrant color to the land and her artwork.
With a deep understanding of the Pacific Northwest’s growing conditions, Christina helps gardeners of all levels grow their own food—whether in raised beds, containers, or backyard gardens. Her warm, approachable teaching style makes gardening fun, accessible, and rewarding.
When she’s not in the garden, she’s capturing nature’s beauty in watercolor, seamlessly blending her love for art and the outdoors.
