The Folk School is back in the commUNITY garden, leading a free educational opportunity on building raised beds while helping expand the Bread Line's Food Forrest: 10AM-2PM Saturday, August 16th at the Stone Soup Community Garden (11th & Lacey)!
Over the years, our Folk School friends have been a powerful resource in revitalizing the Stone Soup Community Garden while teaching us new skills. Learners of all ages & ability are welcome... as are old pros. Many hands make light work.
These new beds will replace older ones that are no longer structurally sound & help make room for our growing Food Forrest.
Food Forests are a diverse planting of edible plants - both perennials & self-seeding annuals. Through a generous GROW-OFF grant from RurAL CAP, we will be planting fruiting trees & shrubs as well as local herbs & other delicious things for our neighbors.
