“So, B&D Spice Mixers, where did we come from? Don has been growing peppers for years, at least 25 years. We (Barb & Don) started with the usual jalapeno, habanero then, oh my the ghost pepper! I remember when it was THE pepper to grow, had to be 20 years ago. If you could grow it, you were something. Then with the internet a whole new world opened up- you couldn't imagine that there were that many pepper types. Meanwhile, Don was growing more and more varieties, we had a hot pepper mix and I had mixed up a seasoned salt akin to Hy;s Seasoning but much less salt. This recipe has been updated over the years. This started about 15 years ago. We were told that they were incredible, being homemade and people would buy them, we decided if we were going to see if we could sell our two mixes...let's give us a name; and B&D Spice Mixers was born. Over the years we made different mixes, some suggested by friends and family including having two different pepper mixes. Don was asked about the peppers he grew and what about his seeds, people would be interested in growing what he has already grown, he grew different varieties every year; he now has seeds from his peppers that he has grown, which gives people hope on knowing you can grow some of the hottest peppers - with no shipping charges! We have 9 different mixes, all gluten free, no MSG or desiccants, small batch and absolutely delish! While we don't have a web site, if people like what they try, they find us.”
