Join us for a morning Field Day at Ellenberger Organic Farm, Ontario’s only certified organic seed potato producer and one of only a handful in Canada. With over 20 years of experience, Henry Ellenberger will walk us through the challenges and triumphs of growing high-quality seed potatoes under organic management. His work sustains over 200 organic growers each year, and offers a model of resilience and innovation for the future of our farming systems.
On Wednesday, September 3rd, we’ll gather at Henry’s farm to see his system in action and hear his hard-earned insights into producing one of the most challenging crops. Henry will be joined by Hugo Martorell (SeedChange), who recently led the creation of an organic potato breeding guide in Quebec. Together, they’ll explore how regionally adapted, early-maturing, and disease-resistant varieties can improve resilience and productivity in low-input systems.
Presented in partnership with the Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security (SeedChange), this is a rare opportunity to learn from Ontario's only organic seed potato producer.
