Growing Native Plants in the Sierra Foothills (June 19th)
About this Event
Discover how to successfully grow California native plants in Sierra Foothills gardens. During this free workshop, we'll explore native plants that thrive in our local climate, discuss planting and establishment techniques, and cover the unique characteristics of foothill soils. You'll learn how native plants support pollinators, beneficial insects, birds, and a healthier garden ecosystem while often requiring less water and maintenance than many traditional landscape plants.
Topics include:
- Native plants that perform well in the Sierra Foothills
- Planting and establishment techniques
- Understanding foothill soils
- Supporting pollinators and wildlife
- Seasonal care and maintenance
Attendees will receive a free milkweed seed packet while supplies last and have plenty of time to ask questions during an extended Q&A session.
*** Note: We are offering similar classes on the 19th and 20th. This is the class for Friday, June 19th in the afternoon. If you are interested in joining us on Saturday morning, please see our event page for details. ***
