Growing Futures: Southern Maryland Agriculture & Environmental Career Exploration Day

Thursday, October 29, 2026

9:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Spider Hall Farm | Calvert County, Maryland

Join us as a Career Experience Partner for Growing Futures: Southern Maryland Agriculture & Environmental Career Exploration Day, a one-of-a-kind regional event designed to inspire the next generation of Southern Maryland's agricultural and environmental workforce.

This exciting experience will welcome approximately 200 middle school students from Calvert County Public Schools, Charles County Public Schools, and St. Mary's County Public Schools, providing them with the opportunity to explore the many rewarding careers that power one of our region's most vital industries.

Unlike a traditional career fair, this event is built around hands-on career exploration. Students won't simply hear about careers—they'll experience them. Through interactive demonstrations, engaging challenges, and real-world activities led by industry professionals, students will discover the innovation, technology, and endless possibilities found throughout agriculture and environmental careers.

We invite farms, businesses, agencies, nonprofits, educational institutions, and industry organizations to become Career Experience Partners by creating an engaging activity that allows students to actively participate. Whether students are planting, building, operating equipment, testing materials, solving real-world problems, or exploring emerging technologies, your experience could be the moment that sparks a future career.

As a Career Experience Partner, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Inspire the next generation of Southern Maryland's workforce through meaningful, hands-on experiences.
  • Showcase your organization, industry, and career opportunities to students from all three Southern Maryland school districts.
  • Help students discover the diversity of careers available in agriculture, environmental science, natural resources, conservation, agribusiness, forestry, aquaculture, animal science, agricultural technology, and many other related fields.
  • Build connections with tomorrow's workforce while demonstrating how your organization contributes to the strength and sustainability of our region.
  • Invest in the future of Southern Maryland by helping students envision exciting career pathways close to home.

Together, we can cultivate curiosity, expand career awareness, and demonstrate that today's agriculture and environmental industries are innovative, technology-driven, and essential to the future of our communities.

We look forward to partnering with you on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Spider Hall Farm as we work together to grow the future of Southern Maryland.
