Do you want to learn to ride in a group? Do you see all these group rides posted on Facebook and think, "That'd be fun but I have no idea how to ride with other people." Or maybe you're worried you'll make some embarrassing mistake and never live it down. I promise I have never done that on a group ride but I'm sure it's a valid concern...Well worry no more! Come as you are and bring your questions and inexperience, and on this easy ride we'll learn a few common techniques and practice on a few different types of roads just how things in a group should go.
Please meet at Maverick in Bluffdale (13970 S Redwood Rd) no later than 10:30 AM (note we have an event happening just before this, Bikes & Breakfast at Jim's. If you want to eat some yummy food first and meet some new motorcycle friends, come to that one also!). We will have a safety briefing tutorial on things like group ride strategy, hand signals, and basic group etiquette, then discuss a couple simple motorcycle maintenance tips that will help ensure a successful and safe ride.
Meetup is at 10:30, kickstands up (KSU) at 11. Ride should be about 2.5 hours.
The route is pretty simple: starting from Maverick we'll head south on the 68/Redwood Rd/West Lake Rd all the way to Elberta. If you haven't been to the Old Sinclair this route takes us right by it. Next we turn west on 6 and head through Eureka, continuing north on the 36 and through Vernon before heading back east on the 73 and into Eagle Mountain. We'll stop at the Maverick there on Ranches Parkway where we can debrief, gas up, and part ways for the day.
Route map and link will be shared in the comments.
Please ensure you wear proper gear and have whatever you need to deal with potential cold or wet weather (the end of April in Utah can be unpredictable!) and make sure your bike is in good condition to take a bit of a longer ride (about 130 miles).
As always with The Riderz Foundation events, this ride is available to anyone on or off Facebook with a motorcycle and a desire to learn and have fun with other riders. So invite your friends! And if you've done group rides before and just want an easy cruise where you can provide a positive example to your fellow riders, please come and participate!
Feel free to reach out with any questions, and we look forward to seeing you all there! Reach out to the co-hosts, Cory Nani or David Allred.
If you are attending the group ride class, everyone must sign a waiver form online, click on the link below…
