Up In One Productions proudly announces its production of Groundhog Day The Musical. Critically acclaimed on both Broadway and the West End, and nominated for seven Tony Awards, eight Olivier awards in 2017, and the Critics Circle Theatre Award for Best Musical in 2016. Groundhog Day is inspired by the hilarious film starring Bill Murray, and features a book by original co-screenwriter Danny Rubin and a sharp, witty score by Tony Award nominee, Tim Minchin (Matilda the Musical).
The cheery townsfolk of Puxatawny, PA are ready for their favorite Groundhog to predict an early spring. After disdainfully covering the rodent's negative forecast, Phil Connors, a seasoned, big-city weatherman, awakens the next day only to discover it's February 2nd again. And again. And again. Will Phil accept that he is doomed to repeat the same day over and over? Or will he find the courage to change himself and his fate?
The Up In One Production is directed by Duane Joseph Olson with music direction by Paul and JoAnne Schubert, and choreography by Maria Coppola.
The cast is headed by Ryan Dutcher as Phil Connors and Brittany Baltay as Rita. It features Connie Boden, Mike Boden, Maggie Bogan, Andrew Bruck, Claire Burton, Maria Coppola, Kiara Daniello, Molly Gilman, Jonah Jaramillo, Isaiah Ricks, Archer Ryan, Eric Ryan, KT Ryan, Dan Santos, Lou Simone, Brandon Swetz, Haley Swetz, Elaine Young, and Irving Zuniga.
Groundhog Day is produced by Diana di Grandi (Sweeney Todd, Hello, Dolly!) and Peter Risafi (Sweeney Todd, Cabaret) for Up In One Productions.
Parental discretion is advised. Best suited for ages 13 and up due to mature themes, including strong language, sexual references, and artistic depictions of suicide.
