Groovemerchant is a jazz band led by Dick Hamer, Swansea based saxophonist and flautist and much loved figure on the Welsh music scene. He is a talented saxophonist, clarinetist, and flautist who leads the Jazz Passengers, a seven-piece jazz ensemble that appeared at Aberjazz in 2023.
Dick Hamer has had a distinguished career as a performer and teacher, collaborating with renowned UK and US jazz artists like Bobby Shew and Stan Tracey. He has also served as the musical director of the Welsh Jazz Orchestra and founded the South Glamorgan Youth Jazz in the 1980s
