A super fly Friday night dance party benefit for Abbey Arts youth programs!

Jyoti B.Fly: kexp.org/djs/jyoti-bfly
Jyoti B.Fly hosts Wo'Pop on KEXP and has spent nineteen years behind the decks in Seattle, after starting out in London and Florida. She plays underground house, breaks, DNB and global bass, pulling from UK, African, Asian and Latin sounds. Expect to hear fun, funky, beat-forward rhythms and journeys within electronic dance music and beyond, spaciously groovy and worldly, with vibes as thick as the basslines. Her crate spans five decades and as many continents, drawing on Francis Bebey, Kraak & Smaak, Rick Wade, Sofia Kourtesis and Nikki Nair, and she's intentional about amplifying underrepresented artists in her sets.
Live credits include Benaroya Hall, Cascadia Festival, APOG, a residency at Caravan Seattle, and a range of nightclubs across the Pacific Northwest.

From Jyoti & Michele:
We’re so excited to host Groove Power dance party!
We met DJing at KEXP and would dance to each other’s sets and talk about music at the studio. On walks around the city we discovered a shared passion for dance parties. Specifically ones where there is a community of warmth and respect. Where the music is all good. Where you can feel free to dance and let go. We wanted to start with a beautiful venue and partner for a good cause.
For this party, we’re playing beats, global, independent and funky sounds. Turning the lights down low. Mixing new music with vintage sweet spots for a thoughtful, fun and propulsive dance experience.
As selectors, we are both intentional about the artists and songs that we play. We love to bring positive energy and artistry. And we are honored to partner with Abbey Arts.
Fremont Abbey has beautiful wooden floors and warm acoustics. Their staff make us feel at home. Their inviting space is one of the best in Seattle for dancing.
All proceeds go to Abbey Arts youth programs! Music and creative arts access matters to us deeply, and this party supports creativity for all. Come on out with your friends and power the arts with this one-of-a-kind dance party!
