Join me at the Baldwin Community Garden for some special Grooves. It will be us and nature, dancing and moving in harmony.
No dance experience needed......just show up, let go and move your way and you will feel amazing. The moves are simple and there is no way to get this wrong - as long as you move in the way your body needs you to.
In each class we dance our way through all kinds of tempos, genres and styles of music - everything from slow and meditative grooves to high-energy rockin' out rhythms. Expect to get funky and sweaty, to feel beautiful and strong. There's something for everyone.
Through it all, I'm here to guide you - we start by settling in and "arriving", warm up the body gently and then off we go with the simplest of moves. Just a few each song - but it's not so much about the moves as it is about how the music makes you feel.
At the end, we take a few minutes to rest and be still (make sure to bring a yoga mat, towel or chair for this!). In a world that values DOING, these moments of rest can feel radical!
In our outdoor Grooves, we dance "silent disco" style - in other words, we wear headsets to hear the music and the instruction. I have enough headsets for 20 Groovers so RSVP at judygrooves.com to reserve one for yourself.
