Our seventh Viking Age “maskfighting” event! Join like minded enthusiasts as we explore early medieval combat by getting as close as we can to authentic combat simulation. Full target zones, armour working accurately, individual duels and shield walls clashes - this event will have it all.
Our seventh Grimnar event will be held at Regia Anglorum’s Wychurst longhall site in Kent. Fight on all the varied terrain the site has to offer, then join together for feasting in the meadhall.
The plan for this event is to get as many people who are interested in maskfighting all in one place together.
This is not western, Eastern or Huscarl style combat so all societies can get involved!
Mandatory requirements to take part in combat:
● A 1600N HEMA mask.
● A gorget (throat protection)
● Joint and lower limb protection; and
● Suitable padded/armoured gloves.
We would strongly recommend an overlay for the mask!
If you are struggling with any of the requirements, just let us know beforehand and we may be able to help out.
Camping is available on site from the Friday, sleeping in some of the buildings will also be possible.
BYOB and food.
Please select attending if you're interested in joining. We will ask people to sign up formally at a later date so we know exactly how many people we have coming.
