OPENER: SEX MONSTER

Prudence Blowhole is a cabaret artist, self-proclaimed cryptozoology expert, romance novel enthusiast, unlicensed sex therapist, sing-a-long initiator, and guest lecturer at a bar near you. With assistance from her band (jazz musicians Amy K Bormet and Matt Dievendorf), they create genre-fluid, surprisingly well-researched, musical dissertations on a variety of saucy subjects. Their first show, Sex Monster, has attracted the attention of perverts across the Washington, D.C. area, selling out shows at historic jazz clubs, queer bars, and haunted mansions. Sex Monster was awarded a project grant in 2025 and 2026 by the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities, which receives funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
