About this Event
Description
Join us for a three-hour circle to tend our grief together in community. Through supported sharing and witnessing, song, movement, ritual, and using our bodies' wisdom to move emotion, we will offer a container to support our personal and collective resilience and liberation in this uncertain time in our world. All are welcome.
We are grateful to Sobonfu Somé and Malidoma Somé, Dagara people of Burkina Faso in West Africa, whose lineage of grief ritual inspires and informs the circles that we offer. May this work be in service to collective resilience and liberation.
Reciprocity
We offer this circle as a gift in service to collective healing. For those who feel called and able, there will be an opportunity to provide reciprocity in the form of a financial contribution via the follow up email sent out after our time together.
Logistics
We'll email a link to the Zoom meeting 2-3 hours before the event begins to those who have registered. Please set aside 5 minutes before the call to get centered and work out any technical issues. We'll begin together promptly at 10am PST/1pm EST. Plan to be available for the full three-hour duration.
We are limiting the group to 23 folks to contribute to a sense of intimacy in our circle. If tickets are sold out and you would like to be added to the waitlist, or if for any reason you are unable to attend after reserving a ticket and would like to make it available for someone else, please email Will at [email protected].
If you know someone who might benefit from this offering, feel free to direct them to this event page to register. Or, have them contact us to be added to our email list for announcements about future circles.
**As a white cisgendered woman (Joanna), and a currently white-presenting bi-racial man, racialized as both Japanese and white (Will), we welcome the voices of grief and outrage of our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color community members. We are committed to doing our best to cultivate a healing and transformative multi-racial community grieving space. We also acknowledge the limitations of our perspectives and capacities due to the specific ways that we each have been racialized in the world. We are committed to listening and learning with curiosity and humility. May we grieve the legacy of white supremacy together. May our collective grief cry serve towards the liberation of all beings.**
