Grief Bowls

Being ready to act may require us to shed a former version of ourselves. That personal work can be hard. This is a hands-on art-breaking workshop. We believe that it will serve as a reset and a regrounding for 2025.

This workshop mimics the process of kintsugi to give intentional space to personal and collective grief and process it in a physical and visual way.
Attendees will be invited to break a bowl and then will be given the opportunity to rebuild or make something new.
While traditional kintsugi utilizes specific lacquers mixed with gold, this workshop will use quick-drying materials so that attendees can take their pieces home with them at the end of the workshop.
This art offering is free. If you're moved to make a donation to the instructor, that is welcome, too. Options to do so will be shared at the event.
