Gremlins (1984)- Cult Classics
About this Event
A screening of Christmas comedy horror 'Gremlins' (1984), part of our 'Cult Classics' series at the Beecroft Cinema Club.
"If your air conditioner goes on the fritz or your washing machine blows up or your video recorder conks out; before you call the repairman, turn on all the lights, check all the closets and cupboards, look under all the beds, 'cause you never can tell — there just might be a gremlin in your house."
Beecroft Cinema Club presents 'Cult Classics' series, screening the iconic films that fans are frenzied for on the big screen at the Beecroft Art Gallery.
In December, we're leaning into some Christmassy chaos with iconic 80s dark comedy 'Gremlins', directed by Joe Dante, written by Chris Columbus and produced by Steven Spielberg.
While looking for the perfect Christmas present for his teenage son Billy, Randall Peltzer stumbles upon the ideal companion, a cute, furry Mogwai. However, the otherwise sweet pet comes with a warning: it must be kept away from bright light, should never get wet and never, ever be fed after midnight. When Billy disregards these rules, the creature causes havoc. Can the unsuspecting inhabitants of Kingston Falls escape the Yuletide nightmare and the horrifying Gremlin menace?
Doors open and refreshments will be available from 6pm and the film will start promptly at 6:30pm (there are no adverts). There is no allocated seating.
The film's run time is 1hr 46 minutes.
The film is rated '12A' and this event is 12+ only.
