Greg Porée, a musical virtuoso, began his journey with the guitar at age 15. His music, influenced by various genres from Bach to The Beatles, reflects his diverse life experiences. Porée's career took off as the musical director for Sonny & Cher, and he has since worked with renowned artists like Gladys Knight & the Pips, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and Diana Ross. His guitar work is featured in albums by Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Ozomatli.
Beyond his guitar skills, Porée is also a composer, known for his album "Inventions." His live performances often feature a range of instruments, including classical guitar, violin, accordion, and vibraphone, showcasing his versatility.
Greg Porée is the curator of the Sierra Madre Jazz Series and also the host of the "SonicTonic" podcast for the California Jazz Foundation, where he supports local jazz artists. His dedication to the jazz community is evident in his performances, creating a unique connection with the audience.
