About this Event

Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) is an educational program for people working in lawn care and landscape maintenance. The GI-BMP program teaches environmentally safe landscaping practices that help conserve and protect Florida's ground and surface waters.

Class will start promptly at 9 am.

At the end of this training you will be given a post-test to determine knowledge learned. If the post-test is successfully completed, you will be mailed a Green Industries BMP certificate of completion. This certificate allows for the issuance of a Limited Urban Fertilizer (LUF) License through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS).

A GI-BMP training certificate is required by Florida law for fertilizer applicators to get their Limited Fertilizer Applicator Certification (LF license), and is useful for all lawn-care, landscape and pest control workers, landscape designers, government staff, property managers, and others. All commercial fertilizer applicators must have a Limited Urban Fertilizer (LUF) License to make any type of fertilizer application to commercial turf or ornamental areas of parks or fields and/or the turf or ornamental area of any residential property.

The workshop will also provide 4 FDACS CEUs: 487/482 Core (2 CEUs), Private Applicator (2), Ornamental & Turf (2), Limited Urban Fertilizer (2), Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance (2), Limited Lawn & Ornamental (2), Commercial Lawn & Ornamental (2).

An Equal Opportunity Institution.
