Coinciding with the finals of the San Diego County Championships, this compass-draw tournament utilizes green dot balls perfect for beginner players who are developing their skills! Players will gain match experience in a tournament setting through level-based play, establish their World Tennis Number (WTN) rating, plus get an opportunity to see individual results in the tournament bracket. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in singles and doubles.
FORMAT: Each player/team will play four matches. The format for each match will be best of seven total games, no-ad scoring. The match will end when the set score reaches 4-3, 5-2, 6-1, or 7-0. With no-ad scoring, if the game score becomes deuce (40-40) then the receiver will choose which side of the court (deuce/left or ad/right) they would like to receive the serve from.
All players MUST be able to serve and rally full court with green dot balls as well as be able to keep score. There is no official referee on the courts, however volunteers will be on site to help out with scoring and rules, if needed.
SCHEDULE: Singles will play Noon-3pm. Doubles will play 3-6pm.
Interested in playing doubles but don't have a partner to sign up with? No problem! When you register you can mark yourself as "Looking for a partner" to get paired with someone.
Spots fill up fast, secure your entry by registering today! While you will be asked for payment information during registration, you will not be charged until after player selection is finalized after registration has closed.
