Green Corridors is excited to invite you to our upcoming Public Planting Day event, dedicated to revitalizing the beautiful Turitea Stream by re-establishing its native foliage. This is your chance to be part of a community-driven effort to restore the natural habitat and promote biodiversity in our local ecosystem.
The first planting day of the season will take place on the 30th of June, where volunteers of all ages and backgrounds will come together to plant native trees and shrubs. We will gather at 10am on the corner of Orchard Rd and Workshop Rd, Massey University (see map location), and will walk from there to the planting location. For any latecomers, there will be signage and volunteers nearby to point you in the right direction.
Please bring a spade and your own gloves, and appropriate footwear. We will have some equipment available on the day, but these are often snapped up quite quickly so make sure to plan ahead!
We invite you to bring your family, friends, and neighbours to this enriching and rewarding event. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a complete novice, your participation will be invaluable in helping us achieve our mission. For any newcomers, our knowledgeable team members will be on hand to guide you through the process. It's a fun and engaging way to get your hands dirty for a great cause, while learning about the native flora that once thrived in this area.
