Green Bay Alders from District 1, 3, 5, & 6 to Host Public Listening Session on 2026 City BudgetCommunity Input Session Scheduled for October 2nd at Preble Park
Green Bay's Alders from Districts 1 (Jennifer Grant), 3 (Bill Morgan), 5 (Craig Stevens), and 6 (Joey Prestley) will host a public listening session focused on the City of Green Bay's 2026 budget on Thursday, October 2nd at 5:30 PM at Preble Park.
The listening session will provide residents with an opportunity to share their priorities, concerns, and suggestions for the upcoming 2026 city budget before the formal budget development process begins. This community engagement initiative is organized by the Alders to gather resident input on municipal financial planning.
The informal session will allow residents to discuss various aspects of city operations, including public safety, infrastructure, parks and recreation, economic development, and other municipal services. No formal presentation is planned, allowing for open dialogue between community members and their elected representatives.
Other Budget Listening Sessions are also being planned by Alders across the City, and details on those will be announced as soon as they are confirmed to ensure all city residents have convenient opportunities to provide input on the 2026 budget.
Preble Park is located at 471 Skyline Boulevard in Green Bay. The park features ample parking and is accessible to all residents. In case of inclement weather, updates will be provided here.
The City of Green Bay's annual budget process typically begins in earnest during the spring months, with department budget requests due by May and public hearings held in the fall. The Common Council must adopt the annual budget by November 14th each year, as required by Wisconsin statute.
Residents unable to attend the October 2nd session can still provide budget input by contacting their respective alders. Written comments may also be submitted through the City of Green Bay website.
The City of Green Bay Communications Office is helping to distribute information about this Alderpersons-organized event but is not involved in the planning or execution of the event.
