Green and Growing 2026: Connecting People, Practices, and Places
About this Event
We learn best from our peers, especially when we connect in person. Bucks County’s conservation community includes volunteers and land managers who help steward our natural resources through conservation organizations, watershed associations, municipal EACs, and on-the-ground practices. This event is designed to bring people together to learn, share ideas, network, and begin shaping our next great project.
The program features three local speaker presentations, interwoven with interactive displays and opportunities for peer-to-peer exchange. Speaker topics include Stormwater Management for Conservation, Forest Health, and Farming with CleanWater.
A $15 registration includes light refreshments. Please bring your own water bottle or beverage; drinking water refills will be available.

From Stormwater to Conservation

Farming with Clean Water
Host: John Crook, Tinicum CSA
Info: Clean and accessible water is essential for small-scale, organic vegetable production. Tinicum CSA has been in operation for 13 years in Upper Black Eddy, PA. Though not USDA certified, they follow organic growing principles and methods. The CSA relies on potable well water for irrigation. Without this reliable water source, farming would be nearly impossible. In recent years, the climate crisis has exacerbated droughts and continues to create erratic weather patterns. To compensate, the farm must maintain reliable systems. The watering system is foundational for the success of the farm.

Speaking for the Trees
Host: Carl Martin, Wildlands Conservancy
Info: John will be the Lorax, speaking for the trees, focusing on forest and backyard stewardship. He'll give us a high level perspective at forest threats, how they've changed, and tips for governing bodies, landowners, and support networks on how to slow or reverse the degradation of the conservation value of our forests. John will share resources to support our homegrown stewardship of Bucks County forests and woodlands.
