About this Event
Ambiguity Where Clarity Matters: Dealing with Justification Expressions in the Ingiloy Translation of Romans 4
How do you help a translator whose language has only one word for “truth” and “righteousness” as he translates Romans 4? Come hear Dr. Troy Manning, the Chief Language Consultant of Bibles International (BI), explain how you can use your knowledge of Greek to translate the New Testament for a specific people group in a Muslim-controlled country in Eurasia.
Troy will also share his journey of how he became an international Bible translation consultant, how he found a Russian-speaking Ukrainian to be his wife and interpreter, and how he got connected to a people group who had been praying for 12 years that God would send someone to help them translate the Bible into their language.
* Bibles International is the Bible Society of Baptist Mid-Missions (BMM), which has been involved in Bible translation since the mission began in 1920. Bibles International was formed in 1981 and currently has 47 language projects in 14 countries. BI offers internships and full-time positions through BMM in literacy, linguistics, translation, Scripture engagement, and various support roles. BI also has openings for specialized volunteers to work from home. Email [email protected] for more information.
