GREAT’s 7th Annual Dr. King Day Beloved Community Event

On Monday, January 19, 2026, housing advocates, community organizations, and concerned neighbors will gather for GREAT’s 7 th Annual Beloved Community Event for Dr. King Day. Participate in knowledge & resource sharing, group activities, and networking to explore housing justice and housing affordability in Germantown.

Discover what it means for Germantown to reflect Dr. King and Coretta Scott King’s concept of the Beloved Community. Is our neighborhood a place where, “Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly”? Are we there yet, or is there more work to be done?

By attending, you will join like-minded neighbors in conversation and activities around GREAT’s Housing Justice Values. You’ll also learn about other organizations working to make Germantown a Beloved Community for all.

And since this is a celebration of Dr. King, the event will be festive with lunch, information tables, giveaways, and a free raffle highlighting vendors from our community.

Now is the time to act for affordable housing in Germantown!

Childcare is available. When you sign up, follow through all the registration questions and you will be asked the ages of children you are signing up (within your own registration). If there is any additional information you think we should have about your children please reach out.

Free Parking is available in the lot to the left of the church, on Germantown Avenue, and on High Street next to the high school, due to the holiday.
