About this Event

Join us for the Great Southeast Pollinator Census, a fun and impactful community science project coordinated by University of Georgia Extension alongside regional university partners. No prior scientific background is needed- whether you're a beginner or an experienced gardener, everyone is welcome! During the event, we'll cover basic insect identification tips to help you spot bumble bees, honey bees, butterflies, and other vital pollinators. Afterwards we will conduct a 15 minute pollinator count in the gardens. Your observations will directly support pollinator conservation by providing real-world data that researchers, educators, and conservationists use to understand and protect local insect populations across the Southeast. Attendees should wear sunhats, bring sunscreen, a water bottle, a clip board and a pencil, and optionally, a foldable chair or stool.
