On November 14, 2026, Great Salt Lake is not a Luxury brings 20 one-of-a-kind garments to the runway at This is The Place Heritage Park — each one inspired by a vital element of the lake most Utahns are watching vanish. The Eared Grebe, a migratory bird whose survival depends entirely on the lake. The historic Saltair Pavilion, once the jewel of Utah's shoreline. The surreal, candy-colored evaporation ponds near Stansbury Island. The otherworldly mirabilite mounds that rise from the lakebed like sculptures no artist could plan. The minerals and crystals now exposed on shores that should still be underwater. Every garment in this collection translates one of these disappearing wonders into wearable art — designed by creative director Chris Carlson in collaboration with local fashion design students and master jewelers who used actual materials harvested from the receding lakebed.
