Great OC Lagoon Race

The 7th annual Great OC Lagoon Race will take place on Saturday, July 18th! This year will include a swimming event! Races will start in the Venetian Lagoon and do a loop around the 17th street island. Starting point is at the 18th street bulkhead (note the red dot below) You can launch at the 16th and 18th street bulkheads.
Three events this year: Paddleboard at 11 am, Kayak race at 11:30. Singles and doubles are permitted, and a swimming race at 12 pm.
OC Beach Patrol will be on site to ensure safety for the swimmers.
NO RACING BOARDS permitted for paddleboard race. Let’s make it the biggest turn out yet!
All are welcome to join in on the festivities…Spectators can watch from the 17th st bridge and 17th and 18th st bulkheads. Prizes and trophy’s for the winners. If you own a local business and would like to sponsor the event and get a promotional post on the OC groups (Island Time, Baylife and 1879 - 70k+ members combined!), please DM me.
There will be a sign-up sheet this year, which will be coming out soon. Also, asking for donations this year for a great cause. All proceeds will go to John Kauterman who is a local hero that cleans up the bay and marshes all around South Jersey.
$10 donation would be great but donate whatever you can. Feel free to bring Cash on race day. Otherwise, my Venmo is: @Tim-Campbell-49
