Bringing Scottish Highland Athletics back to Virginia City with the 5th Annual Great Basin Scottish Highland Games. Yes, Scottish Highland Games have been held in Virginia City both historically and in modern times. Historically, the Caledonia Club of Virginia City hosted games during the Comstock mining era as early as 1865. Today, the tradition continues with the Great Basin Scottish Highland Games, which has relocated its annual event to the Virginia City Fairgrounds starting on June 13-14, 2026
