About this Event

Graveyard Bat Walk with Steve England!

Steve will show you how to identify the different species of bats to be found in Greenbank Cemetery and how to listen to the sounds of the bats using “bat detectors”. Although mainly staying to the foot paths around the cemetery, we may be going over uneven ground, so please wear suitable footwear and bring a torch if you have one. If you have your own bat detector, please feel free to bring it with you!

A percentage of tickets sales will go towards enhancing Royate Hill Local Nature Reserve.

Early booking is advised as these walks by Steve are immensely popular and sell out very quickly! There is currently a limit of 20 attendees for this Bat Walk.

PLEASE NOTE MEETING POINT

**We will be meeting at the entrance to Greenbank Cemetery on Greenbank View **

(Do NOT go to main entrance to Greenbank Cemetery on Greenbank Rd)

Directions: when turning into Royate Hill from Fishponds Road, take the first right (Edward St) and carry along until you see the entrance to the cemetery on your left (next to Royate Hill Local Nature Reserve).

Please arrive no later than 8pm as the event will as it will begin promptly 15 minutes later. Many thanks!

Please check emails closer to the day in case of rare event that it is cancelled.

Cancellation/Postponing due to poor weather:

SE Outdoor Learning events take place outdoors, and therefore unfortunately, we may need to postpone or cancel in the days leading up to the event if it seems that the weather will be too poor for it to be run safely. We will always aim to confirm cancellation of the event 24 - 48 hours in advance (though on very rare occassions, sudden weather changes may mean it's closer than this). Please be aware that there is no guarantee of experiencing bats on the night. Please keep an eye on your emails and Facebook for updates on the event.

We look forward to seeing you at this fantastic Graveyard Bat Walk with Steve England!
